The more I read this forum and the longer FCP X sits in an unused Lion partition on by boot drive the more I want to dig in and make this thing work.
But I do have real work to do and even our switch from Leopard to Snow Leopard was fraught with little workflow stumbles (printer driver misbehaves, need to re-serialize apps, install new updates before we could move forward etc) on six FCP systems. Dragged us down for a few weeks with those nagging hang ups. But we’ve settled in…
So FCP X will eventually get my attention, just like that manuscript that has sat for a while, and those guitar lessons I keep saying I’ll take. And I can’t wait to snap a few clips together magnetically, then slide them away and snap ’em somewhere else.
Been with Apple since 1992 and they have rarely if ever disappointed me. Maybe Mac OS 6 wasn’t so great, but 7.1 was awesome!
Oh, I’ll get around to it.

I stick to Hitachi and Seagate and usually get the 7200rpm type because once in a while we edit off the backup for a quick turn.
I do not buy Western Digital or Samsung.
I have over 75 SATA bare drives as backups and backups of those backups…it’s getting downright scary.

Also I am curious if the native AVCHD retains the recorded timecode or if each clip will start at 00:00. If you convert to ProRes I am guessing you will get the timecode from the metadata…anyone concur?
You will need to do a 23.98 to 29.97 transcode for the stations. No station can accept 23.98 spots. Episode on the Mac does a good job with frame rate conversions and you might have to test the Premier Encoder.

I think Apple getting into education is good for America and the world. Let them make simple, engaging interfaces for learning and we all know it can be a hit.
I think looking for Federal Government contracts for education is a smart move.

Buy the book “Inc Yourself” on Amazon and see what your options are to growing the business….even for a small shop I recommend becoming an S-Corp, although it might vary by state.

Perhaps just adding the Video-Strobe filter to 1 frame will give you a look that is close as well. Basically turns the 60p into 30p, which looks closer to 24p than 60p.
