BUT, there is still no way to share media that lives on one computer (the old internal RAID volume with the Captured media) on another computer with FCPX. It HAS to be a centrally configured RAID that basically everyone shares….correct?

Hmmm…10% production fee…is that a markup on the entire production (including your own staff on the crew) that covers any admin or overhead, or just a 10% markup on the invoices you receive from outside crew?

Walter, how do you work that with agencies who never pay within 30 days? I have a few who are on 70 days AFTER the final video was delivered. Haven’t found a way around it…everyone deals with it here.
They have a strangle hold on when they want to pay. And they don’t realize the havoc it plays on cash flow!

I believe some of the iPhone commercials locked down the phone and then the talent interacted with it….the phone stayed solid so tracking was not an issue. Spot still worked.

I like the Voices.com model where I put a sample script and a range I will pay for the project. The higher I offer the better voices I get. With this I would not hire anyone without seeing a great videography/DP demo reel. Offering between $500-$1500/10 hour day portal to portal, (or basically 8-10 hours of work and you throw in the overnight stay at the lodge) would get you some pretty good samples. You should be able to see the difference between the high and low, as I do with voice samples from voices.com. Sure, some poor shooters will ask for the $1500 but their reel should reveal the quality you will get.
