WE are an all Mac shop and have used iBiz for years as just a logging tool for hours. It is network based but not sure if it is cloud based….we use it only on our intranet.

However, if you bring it in as XDCAM and want to do compositing or major color correction or anything that will require multi generational transcoding, you would be better off promoting the footage up to ProRes 422 or ProRes HQ for that work…

You essentially promote each pixel into the new color space so that it can withstand multi generations.

If you are only going to bring in footage to edit with little to no rendering and want to save the edit in the native codec, that would be the usefulness of staying native.

Rarely does the native codec workflow provide the best results in our process of color correction and compositing.

I would think that approach could backfire too….like showing them how much they spent with you over 2013 and if it could have been replace by a salaried employee. How did it result in them doing more work? Just by showing them that price-per was low enough to do more of it?

MYT is not a heavy slider at all. Just well made. But love the Edelkrone stuff!

Thanks! How about the camera moves…looks like you take a jib to every shoot! Nice look and I see how you set up sequences of moves as you go from wide to closer to subject.

    Slider or jib?

I’m with Daniel. But I WANT to use it….I just need to feel that my investment in time and resources is well spent for the uncertain future.

Not there yet, according to this forum.

Download VideoSpec which is a great file analyzer and player app. Works on many formats that QT doesn’t and is very useful.

“The DOLLAR VALUE of quality represented by clients willing to pay a single percentage point beyond “the least they can” for any work of any quality will continue to be pushed toward zero.”

    This scares me to death.

“I want to be seen a “fair” producer. Not the richest one surrounded by other rich ones comparing how much better than everyone else our little clique is doing.”

This “mantra” gives me hope that it is possible to keep our little engine going.
