so it looks like photoshop finds the middle of your selected area, and pastes your selection there. I wish there was a work-around to stop this from happening, but that’s the score right now.

yes, it look like I’ll be using some blurring and vignetting to hide the flickering as best as possible.
thanks for the replies!

thanks for the post!
no, the flicker is also on the final render.
I’m animating images of old woodcuts (lotsa lines and crosshatching), and the problem occurs when the width of the lines are smaller than the pixel it occupies. So, when the image moves, AE keeps calculating a different color value.
I can’t scale up to get rid of the problem.
any ideas?
thanks again.

July 14, 2006 at 9:52 pm in reply to: changed the settings on a fcp sequence… now my viewfinder is sized oddly.jeremy-
thanks, but perhaps i should rephrase the question.
I took over someone’s composition, changing their 640×480 to 720×486 (for broadcast). I’ve been now importing in all-new footage that has been rendered in AE so that it has non-square pixels.
FCP 4.5 isn’t reacting the way I expected. My new images are not squished the way you would see them if they were in a composition with square pixels, but the viewfinder now is extra long- having two bands on each side.
The question is, other than starting over and rebuilding the whole timeline from scratch, is there anyway to fix this problem?
Is it because, during the replacing process, I have both square and rectangular pixels in 2 different sizes?

I guess I’ll proceed with my first idea. Thank you for the confidence.

June 23, 2006 at 11:29 pm in reply to: after importing, AE will not display full imagefigured it out!
the first frame of each of these sequences was 1600×1200. so AE used that as the standard for the rest of the image sequence.
i feel sheepish that figuring it out took me this long.

I had changed all the issues you posted about- I think the problem lies within “delta1[0]”
I ended up abandoning the expression downgrade and am now working on 6.5 at another station.
This part of the expression is complete: I’m detemining a rotation based on the position of two seperate points.
Thanks for the post!
