    Hi Luigi,

SoundForge can work with only a single (mono or stereo) audio track. A few years ago I had a project which required 4 tracks. I spent some time trying to use SoundForge – to no avail. I gave up and edited the project in Vegas with no problem. since then I have worked on multiple projects with up to 8 or so audio tracks. Vegas works great. Have you checked the Preferences VST tab? I’m on Version 18, so can’t check V.14 but I know that for the past few versions you can enter up to 3 different paths to your VST filters.

This may sound really stupid, but have you checked your mouse? I have had issues with mouses where the buttons start to bounce – usually when the mouse starts to get old or is used a lot. I use that setting on my Vegas and never had a problem.

May 3, 2008 at 3:27 pm in reply to: Make text follow perspective of a billboard

    Hi Guys,
The corner pin is what I was really looking for. The main problem I was having (besides not knowing about that function) was the need to precompose the text layers into a new composition. I also tried the camera, Serge. In AE, I liked the way it looked – I think slightly better than using the corner pin. But after rendering and importing into my video editor (Vegas 8), the text layer was screwed up – much larger than the billboard. I haven’t had a chance to dig into why that is happening (I do need to complete the project!). Anyway, thanks to everyone for their help. Learning AE is difficult at best. Thanks to all of you, my education has taken another giant step forward!

    Hi Dave and Jeremy,
Actually, the billboard is static (a Photoshop .PSD file). I found that I couldn’t use tracking on a static file, so I rendered it to an .AVI file (which of course doesn’t move). Then I followed Dave’s suggestions and the result is close. It looks better if I use the Free Transform on text in Photoshop, but then I can’t use the text animators. It seems funny that software as powerful as AE doesn’t have a straight forward way to transform text. When I get a little time, I’ll play around with 3-D text. Thanks to both of you for your help. The project is still open, so if you can think of a better way to do this, I’m all ears (or eyes!).

July 14, 2007 at 5:50 pm in reply to: make an opening book with video on pages

    Hi ennoidyam,
I would use a graphics drawing program – Illustrator, Fireworks, Photoshop (not the best) etc. to draw each “page” and the “covers”. Then put the pages on the time line of your video editor, and use the video editor’s transitions to make a page turn from page to page. I use Sony Vegas, and have done something similar. I had some kids draw a “cartoon” on separate sheets of paper. I shot the pages with a digital camera, ran the images through Photoshop to clean them up some, the put them on the Vegas time line. Wal-la instant book!
    I hope this helps.

    Hi Edward,
That did the trick – I moved the .mpg.sfl file over to my DVD PC and everything worked fine. In the past i had rendered to .AVI files, and the markers are actually in the file. Thanks for the help!

    Hi Edward,
Yes, I moved the file from one computer to another (I edit on one (the faster) and burn on another). Ihave read a few posts, and discovered that I should be rendering the audio as an .AC3 file – will do in the future.
