That is part of the flash application that is being used to play the video. If you’re delivering to a website, that’s something they’ll take care of.

If you’re seeing the timecode when you capture, you need to change the super settings on your tape deck. It’s probably in the basic menu of the deck, but I don’t know the item number of that setting offhand.

Using print to video, you’ll only be able to crash record, so you’ll have to manually push the record + play button to lay it back to tape. However, like Shane mentioned, I’m pretty sure you want to use Edit to Tape, especially if you need to have your program start on a specific frame.

The only cables you need going to the tape deck are a single sdi line from the Kona out, to the A500 SDI in, and the Kona RS-422 cable to the deck control in on the A500. Make sure that you set the deck control to remote.

The only thing I can think of, is if you possibly switched it over within the menu of the camera in between tapes. Those menus can be fairly deep so it’s not likely, but certainly not unheard of. Likewise, what FCP settings did you use to capture? Are you editing in HDV, or did you bring it in as DV? It’s entirely possible that the footage on the tapes are fine and match each other correctly, but they were brought into FCP incorrectly.

I’m not familiar with the Z1’s menus, so unfortunately I can’t tell you specifically in what menu to look.

Are the edit to tape functions greyed out? More information would help. Are you running blackburst to the deck, and if not, are you looping your composite signal through the Ref in the on the deck.

I’ve seen similar issue before, though not this one specifically. However, I would try trashing preferences.

No, the sequence settings. For example, if you copy footage from a DV sequence to Pro Res sequence, the render files won’t come over. Or, if you copy SD footage into an HD timeline, the render files won’t come over.
