What happens when you want to take the storage up to 20Terrabytes and Beyond?

Also, is there a performance problem if you have 15 seats of dv25 with the 20 Terabytes?

So what have you decided to do?

    ISCSI or Firbre Channel?

    Shane,

    Thanks for the response.

What about products and their costs?

Specifically, fibre channel and ISCSI costs per seat for both hardware and software. What are the choices in software for both Fibre and ISCSI?

  • There are some sound effects that are 44K conformed to 48. The problem;however, existed prior to them being put in. Also, we’ve had other jobs with non 48 K audio and no problems.

    Mike,

I’ve tried what you suggested. No luck.

The funny thing, this only happens in this job. I’ve brought up another job that has the same amount of clips and audio track and there isn’t a problem.

This is the first job that we’ve started with 1.51 from scratch. Up to now with 1.5, we’ve been using the same raid striped drive for both video and conformed audio, and we’ve never had this issue before. I tried change the scratched disk for the problem job to another drive still no success.( Although the already render conformed audio still was on the same primary raid drive.)

    Hoping for some resolution.

    Richard

[mike velte] “There are other issues when using source video files stored on a network server involving lack of response and poor previews…stuttering, etc. “

I am focusing on SAN—So what kind of systems have been successful at sharing media? Only SAN fibre channel? I-SCSI?

I am planning to use a SAN not a traditional network.( I searched the PPforum and found stuff about network issues)
