If this is in the Preview window you might have clicked the FX By-Pass button (the circle with a vertical line through it — it has a drop down menu arrow at its side).

The k-lite package might be the source of the problem! Many, many people have complained about the conflicts it creates and is difficult to uninstall.

Where you can save the image in the window using one of the buttons on the bar. Preferably save as a PNG image. Oh! By the way; set Preview to Best Full on versions older than V12.

“I would worry about a 300.00 machine chewing up the negative. Have it professionally scanned if its worth anything to you.”
I couldn’t agree more. A professionally scanned film by someone using a proper Telecine machine will or should automatically interpolate frames to deal with the fps difference. Then it’s a matter of editing in the normal way.
I’ve done several miles of transfers in this way and, although it’s expensive, it works well. If the original films are worth keeping then the expense is fully justified. I know I, for one, wouldn’t want to compromise over this, especially as the old cine film is probably deteriorating all the time and may eventually become unrecoverable.

November 6, 2016 at 9:53 am in reply to: lost trim or slip edit visual feedback in preview!!!Have you disabled the FX By Pass button (the circle with a vertical line through it) which appears above the Preview window)? Play with its drop down menu and you may find the solution.

Even if you have both 13 and 14 open at the same time? It has always been essential to have both projects open at the same time if you wish to copy and paste between them. If this doesn’t work it might be worth exploring whether the other option I mentioned in my previous post might do the trick.

October 28, 2016 at 10:19 am in reply to: How to Split and Delete (one-step operation)?Using Alt+[ or Alt+] allows you to delete that part of the event before or after the cursor. A great time saver. (Vegas Pro 12 and later).

October 11, 2016 at 10:23 am in reply to: Can you open a Vegas 14 project in Vegas 13?Yes, it’s almost always been impossible to open a project in an earlier version of Vegas (although Vegas 13/12 may have been an exception). If you are going to copy and paste you will need to have both projects open at the same time as it will not normally work if you open them separately.
Incidentally (although I’ve never tried it and don’t know what affect it will have on quality), might not a render from version 14 with this rendered file then being opened in version 13 do the trick?
