  • lost trim or slip edit visual feedback in preview!!!

Posted by Erik Davis on November 6, 2016 at 6:28 am

Hi, this will really give me some relief if someone can point me in the right direction. I like to trim or slip my edits by watching the preview window and SEEING the exact edit point as I drag the event clip. Somehow! I have lost this ability in Vegas13. When I am actively trimming a clip my preview window only shows black! Not the clip as it is being adjusted. I can’t edit like this. Please someone help me!

Have you disabled the FX By Pass button (the circle with a vertical line through it) which appears above the Preview window)? Play with its drop down menu and you may find the solution.

    Hi Richard,

No unfortunately, this did not help my problem. Still stumped. Works on other versions of Vegas but not 13 so it must be either a setting or a problem with the install of Vegas13?

    Hi Erik,

Are using the ‘Normal Edit Tool’ when you are doing this?

Do you usually have ‘Auto Ripple’ On or Off?

    Best Regards…..George

Yes George, I am using the normal edit tool. Ripple would usually be off in this situation but the preview windows should show trimming visual feedback with it on as well.
