Next door you can find the FCPX Techniques forum. For mixing and cutting Audio, the Jim Giberti technique is the go-to method so far.

It’s works very well. Whereas Jim spent a bit of time creating pseudo-tracks, I find I just need to make them as I go, but the organization is key, making sure each pseud-track is comprised of the same role.

Net cash in 2011 was underwater. Now they’re way above water. Then cash equivalents at the end of q1 are also dramatic increases y/y.
The real question is: What are they going to do with their $49,681 (x 1000) in cash?
They could probably save a fortune by getting rid of track based editing because tracks (especially audio tracks) are huge overhead; also, range based exporting really drains the coffers.

I’m not following you here. I don’t have to do that.
CTRL-S. Then yes I use the mouse in the timeline. And take advantage of the magnetism.
I also set the editing preferences to show detailed feedback. Then I double click the edits and can precision edit the clips…using the mouse. The results for me have been awesome and much faster than 7 (6, 5, 4, and 3 also).

Mark your In and Out throw that guy in your timeline adjust the Ins and Outs from the same clip add it in your timeline.
Select the clip on your timeline and hit shift F you will get your In and Outs in the Event library.

Accountancy is quite stacking up: $299 depreciated over 60 months is $4.98/month.
I’m all in favor of buying the product you want, for the price the market will bear, but that’s a different scenario than trying to justify a business decision solely on the cash.

Bit of accounting:
US Tax law let’s us depreciate software purchases over 5 years. $1800 / 60 months is $30/month. This is deducted against gross revenue.
$50/month is more than that ($3,000).
This calculation by the way has nothing to do with FCPX. This is a simple analysis of whether you should buy the software or rent the software, from a monthly cash flow point of view over 60 months.
From Adobe’s pov, it’s a great business model because more people will come up with the monthly fee than will come up with the purchase price.

CMD-8 for bringing up the audio enhancements tab. I use it all the time.

CTRL-S it splits audio from video to make J cuts and L cuts incredibly efficient.
