  • 1. Be sure you are viewing file at 100%
    2. When Placing, after hitting return key, image is rasterized and looks clear.

  • There are LOTS of reasons to not Import Layers into FCP (which you could do since v.1)

    Track management
    Styles don’t import
    Sets GEt messed up
    Masks are ignored
    Many blending modes aren’t supported

MAkign alphas is best (automatic in PSCS2 thanks to video actions Create Alpha Channel – wrote it- it’s in Actiona Palete submenu to load)

If that’s nto an option.. stronglt suggest you pick up me book or DVD as mastering channels takes a bit…

In the meantime.. you can see free videos on subject at my site photoshopforvideo.com

August 25, 2005 at 3:22 pm in reply to: Converting from RGB to CMYK

When I convert from RGB to CMYK my colors are getting duller, less saturated.

    YUP

What can I do so that my colors remain the same?

Work with colors that are in both color spaces….

When I color pick one of the colors in RGB and look at the value in CMYK sliders I get the little exclamation point in the corner.

    Means that color won’t work

Is this impossible for certain colors?

Yep.. additive versus subtractive color space…. suggest doing some in-depth reading if you are working in professional output.

August 20, 2005 at 11:17 pm in reply to: no vanishing point in CMYK space?

Many filters only work in RGB space…

Copnverting to CMYK is the FINAL step… it is best ro work RGB throughout (faster processing, more options, etc.)

Converting back to RGB from CMYK won’t shift colors.. the shift occurs when going to thCMYK the first time as RGB has a wider gamut.

Try copying blank spaces to your vlip board and paste…..

However… in the Paragraph tab.. you can set an indent…. so look there and see if that will do the trick

Look up blending or transfer modes (such as Multiply)
