CMD Click on channel icon to laod a selection

Switch to layers and double click backgroudn to make it a layer

then click add layer mask button

Quick mask cannot be saved with document…

Be sure to create a new channel in the channels palette (that’ll be the alpha)

Q1 You are adding a 16 bit iamge to an 8 bit canvas

Q2 Personal choice… start bigger if you are going to move background

Your alpha is being premultiplied with a color…

Suggest going back to program and exporting another file type *such as PNG or layerd PSD

Under comp menu is AE you can choose to save a layered PSD (this and more in PSNLE book too)
