Moving image with alpha from one window in photoshop to another
I’ve rendered out a cloud I’ve made in Maya to the iff format with alpha. It comes into Photoshop with an alpha “channel” but the background is black. How do I drag this cloud layer to another photoshop comp and have just the cloud show up with nothing behind it? I can go into the channels tab, cntrl-click on the alpha channel and then copy and paste into new photoshop comp, but there’s black where it’s pre-multiplied. I’m trying to fix it so only the cloud shows up and no blackness. I tried rendering with premultiply checked off in maya but my alpha goes away when I do that. If it has to be premultiplied to do what I want, how do I tell maya to premultiply against blue instead of black? Or do I do that step in photoshop?
Confused.
