Boot laptop into Target Disk Mode.. Hodl Down T at startup

Plug it into tower

Rn media manager… target disk and create a version of the project at Offlien RT mode
Do not delete unused media or change handle length

Edit

When Done… Create Offline project with Media Manager and relink to Main media

This workflow is adewuately described in documentation

The book is case studies and hands on practice… but if you are totally new to After Effects… I would pick up the Classroom in a Book or Meyers or Taylor’s book as a primer
