so what are you going to do.. increase the size of the particles? or make the cloud less transparent?

just finish your project…worry about banding at the very end

what is a chore exactly? Im not sure I see the problem. ..Ok now that I know that we are not talking about an anime.lol. The video on overlord says that it updates while animating so couldnt you set your colors on day…go to AE and set a keyframe, then go to back to Illustrator, change the colors to night…go to the end of the composition in AE and then update the colors…that seems to be its most useful feature.

add something to your project…the more stuff you add the better…once you add something the banding will go away…and if not make your end of ramp further away from your start of ramp.

are you sure those lines are not always there. Try masking your illustrator files…it could be leftover information in them..

Lol i just looked it up…it sure is dated…But all it does anyways is use 2 effects that i can see…fractal noise as a source and a displacement map as the effect

ohh but there is one thing you can check…2 things actually and its very annoying..make sure both the camera and the light both start from their orginal starting frame…if this is shortened or lengthened by even one frame and then shifted, it causes bad things to happen

it looks to be a picture of google chrome…..somehow and yet it does also look like after effects…but its too zoomed in and it sure does not look like any shadows belong in there

always render to a png sequence…its way easier

you could use paths…or you can just use math..with gravity and force you should be able to do this right?
