Thanks for your expert advice. Can you tell me how to adjust video levels in the preview while importing from VCR source? I am getting very dark pictures, compared to the source video. I know this seems like a simple problem, but I have been unable to make any adjustments
to the preview picture, and this might even result in a dark picture after rendering; which I have not done yet on the present project.
Thsnk you for any suggestions.Red Blanchard

My Vegas 9 will not recognize a USB 2800 capture device, even though Windows Movie Maker sees it right away. I can capture from a firewire cam but not this USB device, which I need to capture from VCR. How can I make it happen? Thanks.

My Vegas 8 just started this crazy habit of stopping a long MPEG1 render after about 30 minutes, The entire program quits and reverts to my desktop. I tried re-installing Vegas 8 and it still does it. Any ideas, anyone?

All of a sudden my Vegas 8 stops after about 30 minutes on a long MPEG1 rendering. I did render the same 9 hour file to M2T but it was too big so changed to MPEG1. I removed Vegas and re-installed; but still stopped rendering after about 30 minutes.
In the past I rendered many long files with no trouble no matter what format.
Anybody help on this? Thanks.Red Blanchard

I cannot get Vegas7 to capture HDV. I have tried everything mentioned in various forum posts, and Vegas will not recognize my Canon XA-A1 in HDV mode. Then I downloaded a FREE small program called hdvsplit.exe and it immediately recognied the cam and captured HDV to a file perfectly. Why can’t Vegas do the same?
Thanks for any suggestions. -
I have been struggling with capturing HDV for months now, and still can’t make it work. I have a Canon XH-A1 and can set it for either DV or HDV output OK. I have set the Vegas7 to “External capture”
or ‘internal. Nothing works. I can capture HD fine, but Vegas7 never sees the camera on HDV.
What else is there to try? Thanks for any insight on this. -
I am trying to use an ATI HDTV Wonder Capture card, but neither Premiere Pro nor Sony Vagas will recognize it; Windows Movie maker recognizes it fine. All three are on the same computer, and I am trying to settle on one good one. Can Premiere Pro recognize an analog capture card? Is Windows Movie Maker grabbing the card even when it is turned off?
I hope this isn’t a dumb question, but I have been trying for days to get these two Expensive programs to work. -
I have an ATI HDTV Wonder card, and neither Premiere Pro nor Sony Vegas will recognize it. However, Windows Movie Maker recognizes it fine. All three on the same XP PRO computer.
Is there anything I can do to use the other movie programs?
