In PAL the’re 25 frames/sec. o.2Sec is one fifth of a second so 25 frames divided by five = 5 frames.

    More info needed.

Firstly have you checked the quality settings for you preview and record monitors in PPro?

What video format are you using in AE and PPro?
    What form of AVI?
How are you bringing in the AVI to PPro?

Have you checked your Media Creation settings? The local drives may be filtered out to force all media to the fibre attached drives.

2 Yes, it happens to me sometimes as well. Click on the transition and change the setting to “center on cut” in the Effect Controls panel. It may be that you don’t have heads or tails trimmed properly, or it may just be stubborn.

If there isn’t enough of the outgoing or incoming audio clip for the standard duration clip to cover, it will change to what is possible with the meadia that is there. When marking clips for making subclips, always allow an extra second or two for this very purpose.

Forgot to ask, what version of MCA are you on?

    Mmm,

    Shouldn’t be a problem there.

The 8200 used to ship with a FX1300, 1400 cards – mid range’ish by present standards.

Have you tried playing back full screen on your workstation with the Adrenaline box disconnected.

It’s possible the NVidia driver could also be causing issues here. Check with Avid Online Support on avid.com for the latest current supported version.

There was a BIOS setting change for the 8200 that you could check, which would be worth a try: 8200 BIOS Config.

That said, your Adrenaline can edit HD, I’ve seen plenty of them doing just that, but that was probably an announcement from Avid before HDV came along. And HDV is massively processor intensive – one of the justifications for the development of edit friendly ‘codecs’ such as DNxHD.

HDV as I’m sure you’re aware uses a data rate very close to that of DV25 but the MPEG encoding is very edit unfriendly. Really it’s an aquisition format.

    Jeeez,

So are you saying you’re trying to edit the native HDV video or a DNxHD version of it?

With DNxHD on Media Composer Adrenaline you can preview three streams of HD video and do frame accurate editing on it – unlike HDV.

To playout your sequence you need to render the sequence

    Okay,

    1. What PC are you using with it and specs?
    2. Which graphics card?
    3. What HDV camera are you using?
