Media Composer Client monitor issue
I’m working on an extended project in Media Composer and cannot figure out how to use a client monitor with my system. The project is a mix of HDV and DV. I am using an HDV/DV deck (Sony M15U) as a go-between to the monitor (I am running MC software alone- no mojo, no adrenaline). The only way I’ve been able to see footage on the external monitor is to Format the project for DV, then export to DV device, then run cables to the monitor. The problem with this setup is that we’ll lose sync over a period of time during screening. Plus, the HDV naturally looks crumby in DV.
Any suggestions for a solution? What about an additional card in the Mac to output to another LCD monitor or something/anything else? S-video out? Component out? Any other solution? Will the HDV play on an HD monitor? (Right now if the project is formatted for HDV, it will show a frame of the HDV if a sequence or clip is paused, then drops to black when played). I’m willing to invest here (though an adrenaline b.o. is out of the budget). A mojo though, I’d go for if it’d work.
Thanks,
