Someone suggested exporting out my capture list and re-importing it. When I re-imported the list it allowed me to change the settings. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for your help Blast. I double checked the entire project and found that some Audio is 16 bit and some is 12 bit. It all reads 48kHz. So switching everything to 32khz won’t fix the stuff thats 16 bit. I’m still trying to get my mind around the fact that Premier conforms the audio when it brings it in no matter the format. So why does the original format matter if it is compatible with Premier and gets conformed to the project settings upon import?

You may have me on the right track. My project audio setting is 48000Hz, 16 bit. My incomming audio is 48000Hz, 12 bit. I don’t see a setting to allow 48000Hz 12 bit in the project options but Premier takes it in, no problem. I thought Prenmier conformed all the audio when it imported it? Am I missing something?

Yes I am, thanks for your concern. I have a friend in college with the acedemic version, which I just found out is shipped without the steady move feature. I was simply wondering if there was a download somewhere, I could point them to.

Thanks! Thats exactly what I needed. I somehow missed the thread about it earlier.

I’ve seen this a couple of times. When its in the same place in the timeline its usually the audio track that has the problem, not the clip. Try moving the audio clip to a lower track.

You can also get rid of most of the mic hiss by applying the treble effect. Its simple quick and not too noticable if its basic audio underneath like talking. The de-hummer removes most camera hum but the Bass effect will remove quite a bit as well.

July 21, 2006 at 4:42 pm in reply to: Another “Error Compiling Movie”……..I’m saving the last bullet for myself!I just called Adobie and paid $40 to get a work around. I’ll post their answer here for $free.
Apparently there is a corupt file (somewhere?)causing all the trouble. It must be a common file since it affects my new projects as well even though I’m not sharing any clips or files with my other projects. To fix it, I had to set up a new administrator account and change my scratch discs destination to another location outside the project. Problem solved.
I’m still not sure why it wouldn’t just let me change the destination before, but setting up a new account fixed it. At least on this project. I’ll do any new projects under the new account and hope the corrupt file doesn’t follow me over. They said there was no way to know which file was causing the problem so the only fix was to copy the projects into another new project like I had been doing or create the new account and start all my projects fresh from there. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
