Thanks alot 😀 Appreciate the help!

  • No, my images is just black and white, colour keying would do the same as using modes. But the gif file has the center opaque but the outside transparent. So if I were to colour key, the inside would become transparent as well.

  • Eh, now I’m confused, is an alpha channel and transparency not the same thing? If not how do I convert gif transparency to an alpha channel?

    Thanks

  • Sorry, could you be more specific? I have the same problem. I need to import a gif into after effects with its transparency intact. I dont have photoshop, and Preview (Mac default viewing program) doesn’t seem to save the file with alpha when I try to convert it to png, tiff, or targa. Anyone help?

    Thanks

I have ae cs3 🙁 I assume these plug-ins only work for earlier versions of ae, and therefore this is a definite flaw in the ae design.

    But thanks for the info!

Ah… Well I’m using a ppc at the moment, I’m striving to get an Intel because then I can get a PC emulator and not need to worry about all this. Is there a way of getting .aex filed to open then on a power mac?

    Thanks,

    Ok thanks Andrew,

But there are quite a few plug-ins that use .aex format, is there a converter I could download somewhere or a trick to opening that format on a Mac?

    Thanks,

March 28, 2008 at 1:18 pm in reply to: Sapphire 2007 reel how to?

Mainly the character separation… i.e. when the cloning happens and one character ‘falls out of’ the other character, also the cylindrical prison when the man is stuck in the middle? And lastly when two characters walk through each other. Oh and a suggestion for the next reel, show what Sapphire did and what it didn’t, because I’m pretty sure Sapphire didn’t do all of the animations. I can see that there’s lots of glinting and glowing going on, but those effects I’d like explained please 🙂

    Thanks,

Just found what I was looking for, the effects called ‘mosaic’ from sapphire plug-ins 🙂
