Hello Jeremy,

Thanks again for the fast response..

I copied the video_ts folder to my desktop, opened vts_01.vob on MpegStream and selected all files. then it complained about time code breaks, I clicked fix timecode breaks and clicked export as quicktime.

I tried exporting at the defaul settings with Motion Jpeg A and also no luck. Same problem. The first time I did it (which worked only on the first disk) I used the following export settings:

Apple DV/DVCPRO – NTSC
Quality 50%

Sound uncompressed, stereo, auto(also tried using 48k)

720×480 (DV-NTSC), lower field first

here is the stream info:

Stream Info:
Stream: VTS_01_1.VOB
Type: VOB program stream

Duration: 0:24:52
Data Size: 1.05GB
Bit rate 6.07 Mbps

Video tracks:
224 Mpeg-2, 704 x 480, 4:3, 29.97fps, 9.30Mbps, upper field first

Audio tracks:
128 AC3 2/0, 48 kHz , 256 kbps

Stream files:
VTS_01_1.VOB(1023.97MB)
VTS_01_2.VOB(55.81MB)

I wonder why it would only work with one of the discs if they all play perfectly on the dvd player.
Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks again for your help

Guess I will try the encoder first and go to dv only as last option..

Hello,

Select all layers in your comp, and click crtl+shift+C in order to put them in a Pre Comp. name the pre-comp whatever you want and thats all there is to it… anything done to the pre-comp will affect all layers that are inside (fx, keyframes, blendmodes, whatever)

pre-composing is one of the most powerfull ways of working in after fx.. if you have time take a look at the after fx tutorials at the Cow, I remember seeing one about precomps (also know as nesting).. Its definetly worth a look..

heheh nope I am not the renato you are thinking of…

thanks a lot for the info… its great to hear it from someone that is working with a powerbook…

great advice Steve.. somehow I forgot about external drives.. And I will check the FCP foruns as you suggested…sorry again for posting it here and thanks for the fast replies.

wow that was fast…thanks a lot for the input Steve.

So that solves it for AE…now I hope it wont give me drop frames or other problems on Final Cut.
