thank you Enzo and once again sorry for the silly questions. now one more question and i’ll be gone (promise)
talking about the online – you suggest that i use the easy set up, but since its my first time with both NTSC and HDV, there are different kinds of HDV in the easy set up how would i know which one to choose ? o.k i guess the HDV 1080i50 is for PAL . but what about the 720p30 ? and whats the difference between HDV1080i60 and HDV1080i60 Apple intermediate codec?

    thank you

o.k I’m really sorry i’ll try to make this as clear as possible

Tom suggest “You may want to consider off-lining with DV anamorphic”
    and i was wondering
1- why DV anamorphic and not offlineRT NTSC ?
    2- why anamorphic? i didn’t say anything about 16:9 ?
3- when online comes, and we want to get the best out of our tapes (HDV), what format do we choose to online?

    thank you

o.k its me again, not giving up easily.
according to the book writen by Diana Weyanand i was right by choosing the offline RT option since :
“its a high compression offline codec. it’s a good option to use for capturing a long project off line because you canstore approximaely two hours of vider per GB of hard drivee space compared to the only five minutes of full quality DV AND you can play more real time effects with offlineRT than you can in DV…..”

o.k sorry for bothering you but one last question

offline NTSC is for a pgoto right?
what if i wan to capture 100 of houres and i dont need the media to be in full quality (like n avid you choose 15:1 ) how do i do that in FCP?
i thought offlineRT would take less room on the hard disk

i would really appreciate it if you could answer my qustions after all if i dont ask ill never know

    many thanks

    Dear Tom

thank you so much for your reply, it is very encoureging.
excuse me for asking more silly questions but i wanna make sure i am on the right track coz i need to take decisions a.s.a.p. and wanna make sure that i start the right way and not having to go back in the future to redo everything all over again.

so basically if i set the easy set up to offlineRT NTSC is that o.k? why DV anamorphic and not offlineRT NTSC?

the HDV tapes are more than 100 tapes and there are few DV tapes. what do i do? we are hoping to get the final work to festivals and screenings on TV and wherever possible , we are working on that too.
so what do you think the best thing is?

when you suggest : “You may want to consider off-lining with DV anamorphic”
    why anamorphic?

    many thanks
