I am sure you must use displacement maps. I would do a search for a tutorial.

I cannot help with your particular problem, but I will say that we edit CS3 on a Mac here with no sync issues. Its also more stable than the CS3 on our Win XP machines, oddly enough.

Probably a firewire issue.

I think you need to right click (option click) on the video in the project window and make sure that the pixel aspect ratio is set right (either 1.0 or .9 depending on the source) (look in INTERPRET FOOTAGE)

I doubt you will get much response here. Animating water, though it can be done in After Effects, it is a job for a more rigorously 3D and particle based system. Try googling freelance animators or contract digital animation. You might contact Andrew Kramer and see if he knows of anyone who is capable of such a shot.

Unfortunately there is not much that can be done with VIDEO that is blown out that badly. My advice would be to go with that look and intentially have high contrast. Use your levels and contrast controls, crush your blacks slightly (raise your black in levels) and also pop your contrast a bit.

This is one war you cannot win, so you might as well run with it and use it to a style advantage.

The problem with blown out (overexposed) video is that nearly all detail is completely lost, so if you lower the brightness, you get a nice, flat, boring grey zone. Not usable.

Exploit it, and others will think youre a creative genius.

This is very simple. Use the tracker,then select STABILIZE, and when you do the “apply” step, it will ask you X,Y, or both. Select X (horiz) only.

If not familiar with tracker, there are tutorials all over about it.

I would use quick film flashes in some of your cuts for more of an edgy music video look.

Also, you might add some noise and grain, with maybe some jagged movement using the wiggler every now and then, especially on hard hits.

Draw a mask on another layer. Then copy the mask shape to your position keyframes on your truck layer. You can even use the “orient to path” feature to keep it pointing correctly.

Use your track select tool (it looks like a small arrow pointing to the right) then click on the first part of your track then drag it above the track you want to move down.
