    You running out of ram.
Try disabling displacement maps, booleans, or hyper nurbs, Area shadows.

Yes, For that type of animation you can get it done with core. You will need to learn a bit of expresso (node based controls). You would be better off with some constraint options, you can get this with MOCCA module or a cheaper and powerful option is this plug in set

It really depends on the font and the look you want. The extrude nurbs have some nice clean beveling options in the caps tab (for beveling you almost always need to enable the “constrain” option) However IF your font allows it using a sweep nurbs with your text can give nice results. Make sure they are in the correct order. Should look like this:

    Sweep Nurbs
    -Shape (square, circle ect.)
    -Text

This will however give you two sided letters so you will have to work on your spline a bit. There is a actually a tutorial about just this at the c4d cafe. I have not seen it but 3D Kiwi is very good and does not skip a step in his tutorials. The tutorial is free but you need to sign up for it… its well worth the time there are loads of excellent tutorials.

I added another video to the blog that should get you going in the right direction.

If you are looking for a cartoon look I would just model and texture the brush and use a jiggle deformer to animate it… but thats a whole other thing to do.

Well that is a little different then the straight brushes. You want to model the shape (close anyway) then convert the edges to hair guides. Then you will need to use the clone option.
Perhaps I can make another video tomorrow. This approach is far more efficent but takes a little more care.

Try to get it as close as you can in cinema.
Do you have a sketch or ref image you are working from that you can share?

February 1, 2010 at 6:22 pm in reply to: Cloth issue

Is it going to be animated?
It looks like your stiffness, rubber, flexion settings to me.
I would not bother trying to get it to fall on your scene but “current state” what you have and sculpt what you have into what you want with the Brush tool. Then if your animating the cloth add the cloth tag to it again.
