    Hi dupperware,

I just came back from Amsterdam on vacation and what a great city to film and take pictures. I’m also looking into the AMD64 dual core system after seeing Gary’s results on August 14th on this forum. It’s the mean machine. My Dell P3 is driving me crazy. Time to move up to the AMD 64.
Best of luck to you. Moooooooooooooooo!

    Hi Donna,

I don’t know anything about Pentium D processors, but you should read what Gary mentioned on August 14, 2005. Gary’s test results are very interesting.

  • Hi Peter,

I was capturing to an Maxtor external harddrive with plenty of space. There were no gaps in the recorded footage. I have just now disabled Scene detection.
    Thanks for your advice.

    Hi All,

That’s a good question. How do you take super 8 silent movie tape and convert or apply it to DVD. I’m using Vegas 6 and DVD3 if that helps. What tape decks or equipment do you need for that?

    Thanks,
    Ralph

    Hi Gary,

Sorry for the late response to your posting. I getting ready for a trip to Europe. The results are incredible compared to the P4. I wanted to ask you if you don’t mind, do you have any extra goodies added to your new system that we should know about. The $2000 price that you mentioned is a great deal. What exactly does your system consists of in detail?

    Thanks Gary,

    August 9, 2005 at 5:30 pm in reply to: Buying a Used XL1s vs a New GL2

    Hi Luis,

You have to consider how much use has the XL1 has had on the heads. I always go new, never old, because you never know if there’s anything wrong with it. I heard you should stay with the same DV tapes and never switch. I have a GL2 for two years now and I like it because it’s small enough to travel around with. If your leaning towards the XL1, maybe you should wait and same your money and purchase the XL2. It’s only my thought.
    Good Luck on your decision.
