Hi Anthony Hartis,

I have to throw in my two cents. I’ve been searching for the same answer. The FX1 has no XLR connections and as you stated, you’ll need an adapter unless you record everything by mini disc players or some other recording device. The Z1U has the XLR connections. I believe everything is recorded in widescreen. Due a search on the sony site and good luck.

Hi Vegasuser88,

I tried to do a research in the Archives for you on the AMD mean machines, but I was unable to pull it up. If you can research it on August 14, 2005, Gary has his results from his new computer. Then if you go to Nov 5, 2005, blooming was nice enough to post his AMD hardware system. My Dell P3 isn’t doing me justice anymore. I’m running a little behind time so I just ordered my AMD system from TastyComputers.com in Colorado. It will take 3 weeks before I get it and I can’t wait because I feel the need for speed. I hope this helps a little.

Hi Dror,

When your ready to render, in Vegas you go to File>render as>save as type (avi)
I use the default template(uncompressed).
Make sure you check Stretch video to output frame size & check Save project makers in media file.
Always remember to highlight what you want to render if your rendering in sections. Get yourself a Vegas6 Tutorial. I have The Vegas6 Companion by Gary Kleiner along with the DVD Authoring with DVD Architect 3. Try it you’ll like it.

Hi Dror,

I use to render to mpeg2 for DVD’s, but for that paricular reason. I render to AVI now instead of Mpeg because mpeg is highly compressed and AVI is not. AVI is compressed when you render it in your authoring program as in DVD Authoring with DVD Architect 3 which I have. So I view over and over again in Vegas 6 and make your changes withot losing quality in AVI. Start thinking about rendering in sections and bring your sections into your authoring program. If you mess up on a certain section, just redo that section and your done. No more long renders. I hope this helps. If I told you wrong, I’ll here about this from my friends Gary, Ed, Ralph & Mike. Thanks for responding. I finally got all my markers moving at the same time along with all the events on all timelines. Either I was brain dead or vegas6 just had a bad day and didn’t want to respond. Now I’m a happy camper.
