  • I have a reasonably unimpressive machine & in my case if I browse clips in list view while playing them the video starts playing for 5 frames, then it plays those 5 frames in reverse (perhaps the stutter that you were talking about) & finally it plays them smoothly.

Hopefully it helps, if not start chanting “its Beta software, its Beta software” & it will surely help 😉

I say stick with FCS 3 for a while and give FCP X the wait & watch treatment. Its got its share of bugs & missing features, so why rant now when FCP X is basically BETA software. Let Apple fix things as they have promised to & then we should decide if this product is for us or not.

I worked with some XDCAM Ex files in FCP X over the weekend. No weird gamma shifts for me.

See if the corruption gets exported with the final video to ascertain if it is some sort of FCP X bug. I think that FCP X is actually BETA software that these morons have managed to sell in the absence of Steve.

June 28, 2011 at 3:37 pm in reply to: Stability issues- is it your config?

I guess its all because of FCP X vying for CPU Time with other applications running in the background that we are facing these crashes. Maybe running FCP X solo is the only way out (for now).

Sure, only one update on Apple’s part is needed to change the algorithms which decide the way the waveforms are displayed.

Mate, Skimming surely feels like shite in front of a dedicated viewer. I have been getting lots of Random crashes as well. How stable has FCP X been for you ?

[Aindreas Gallagher] “Famous quote from Mahatma Gandhi:
“Randy Ubillos, you brain damaged dwarf, FCP7 wasn’t a multitrack editor, editing is a multitrack operation, editing software is intended to be an expression of that truth.””

If I am not wrong it was not Gandhi who said those famous words but Hitler .

I think that optimized media improves the color correction abilities of H.264 media. Apart from that I dont see how it could actually IMPROVE visual quality of the video.
