Hi Ben,
It seems that the only problem for installing FCS.2 is that the installer needs Rosetta.
but is possible install Rosetta from any old MacOS DVD (Leopard or Snow Leopard). Then installing FCS2 has no problems.

Nothing without installing the software you mentioned or 5DtoRGB.
If you have VCL on your computer, you can try to play the MT2 to check if they are OK, but won’t be of any help to using them on FC.
For whatever reason FC has problem to recognize the clips.

Hollywood makes a good job because they start with a high quality picture and because they use good tools for downscaling and compression.
The fact that of the DVD replication vs DVD-R toasted on a computer changes nothing. What is important is the MPGE-2 in the disc.

No. I do 90% of my work with EX footage.
You can edit it on an EX or Prores time line.
Whatever your choice, before exporting the sequence, set the sequence codec to Prores or ProresHQ and set as well “Render all YUV in High Precision”.

Try exporting a self-contained movie from FC, them import that to Compressor.

We see tons of Hollywood movies in DVD and they keep very good quality.
Of course they are not downscaled neither compressed with Compressor.
Downscale with SHAKE or Avisynth and compress with CinemaCraft or BiteVice and you may get amazed of the quality.

Please stop misleading people and giving wrong advice to sell your software. That’s not allowed in The COW.
