I guess you have shoot p24 (23,98) with added pull down.
You need to remove the pull down to get plain p23,98, then edit on a p23,98 sequence,
or edit your footage as it is on a 29,97 Lower First sequence.

Tom,
The Droplets are very small but they have a quite complex structure. If they were just documents, it could be easily fixed with the “Open with..” function, but they are in fact applications and -at least for my self- is not easy to know what has gone wrong inside.
You could try to compare the package contents of a droplet that is OK with he one that is not working (that’s the kind of things on what I love to waist my time), but probably will be easier to make new droplets.[Tom Matthies] “Ran Disk Warrior but it didn’t fix the problem. …..If I create a new Droplet, it shows on the desktop just fine.”
Is possible that DiskWarrior is not able to fix the old droplets because the are corrupted, but may have fixed the issue that produced that corruption.

Progressive footage can be treated as interlaced and edited on an interlaced sequence without problem.
So is your footage is really Progressive, is impossible that shows interlacing, whatever the field order of the editing sequence.

That’s nothing related with Compressor or FCS.
Your system needs some maintenance because even the finder is unable to show the proper icons.
I would run DiskWarrior. Try first making a Safe Boot.

If you have to deal with lot of stills, start by increasing the “Still Cache” (Preferences).
Is well known that FC do not likes managing big amount of stills, but some times works better than others.

Open the clips with MPGStreamclip. Make sure that the size is 620×240 (Unscaled).
Just need to uncheck “Interlaced Scaling”. Use Prores as the conversion codec.
Then you need to conform the Prores clips (CinemaTools) to the time-base you want to edit with.

Avoid importing “.psd” files unless you need to work with multilayer stills.
Try with an PNG or TGA better. Always RGB, of course.

Keep editing, and when finished the editing, change the secuence codec by Prores and set “Render in YUV”.

FC is very good at reconnecting when the media is supported and consistent.
