This is really the first time i ever heard of this issue.
Open your project and save it with a different name and see if that helps.

As Neil s, you should ask for the proper specs for the “.m2t”, because normally this should allows higher data rate than the DVDs standard MPEG-2 (.m2v).
To be able to rise the data rate, you must select “Stream Usage: Generic”.

I don’t think your client will want a distorted picture.
To put a 16×9 picture on a 4/3 frames without distortion, you have two solutions;
– Fill the 4×3 frame, in which case you need to crop both sides (left&right) of the picture.
– Fit the frame, so the picture won’t be cropped but displayed adding black bars on top and under (letter-boxed).
You have to decide which of both formats you want.

Select all the stuff on the sequence and left-click Remove Attribute > Basic motion + Distort.

Have a look to the screen grab again.
Yeap, to the QT Player Info window.
The Info say that your footage is 1988×1080, but the format says 1280×688 and the displayed size (current size) is 640×344, so you better don’t trust much QT Player, and instead you better have a look to the picture size in FC’s Browser.

Probably your footage is 1280×720, which is the standard.
You may be getting somewhere 1280×688, which probably are the displayed pixels.
Export 1280×720 Squared pixels.

Toast has never pretended being an authoring application.
The two habitual options for DVD authoring on Mac are Apple’s “DVD Studio Pro” and Adobe Encore.
I’m not sure if DVDSTP has been discontinued with FCP.
Encore has more options and allows to author BluRay too.

Are you exporting with the “Millions of Colors +” option checked?

Then a bit of maintenance would be good.
Repair Permissions and try refreshing the Preferences (https://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/).
Same times just saving the project with a different name fix a lot of issues.

The three Pluge bars levels are (from left to right): -4%, 0% and +4%.
If on exporting from FC you are getting the super-blacks (-4%) clipped to 0%, I thinkthe sequence is not set for rendering in Floating Point (High Precision).
Make sure the sequence is not set to be rendered at 8b.
