20gb for your 3hrs of video is an indication of a possible problem on your end and might not be PPro’s fault…Sorry I don’t have a solution to offer, but thought you could use these numbers for comparison sake…

I spoke to the folks at cpc and it looks like they’ll be able to help…We do everything DV…They have a DV solution that is software only for $6,500…To me, sending it out seems like a waste of money…Our turn around time wouldn’t permit it anyway…If I buy, I can up the client’s cost by a small amount and make back my money in the long run…I could also offer local captioning service…’preciate the input…

Thanks for the effort…I’ve been to their site and am only slightly less confused now…Can’t tell exactly what is needed software and hardware wise…I’m just as blown away that this is not the main topic of discussion here…Is everybody on this forum just making home movies…Can’t be…There must be folks making TV for broadcast that this issue will affect…
Thanks -
It would be OK if I had to run the program through a seperate piece of hardware…It just doesn’t seem like there are many options at all…I’m just finding out today that there are only 30 days until broadcast TV must be cc…I can’t believe that this is not creating a serious issue for many, many people…I search the archives and find only a couple of folks expressing concern…I would think that this would be “Lead story” on the forumns…This is an issue that has the potential to put quite a few folks out of business…

choose Stereo folder > drag Fill Right filter onto the audio clip…You now have a clip with the left channel being a duplicate of the right…

I went to Home Depot and bought a 6 foot long kitchen counter top…They come in different lenghts and already have the lamination applied…They have different styles and colors…Then I got 2 2-drawer filing cabinets and then spanned them with the counter top…So, I have six feet of desk space and 4 filing cabinet drawers…Work great…

Soon we’ll be able to get Double layer disks so we can put approx. 8gb to each disk…That’ll help…

Rarely do I have a project that fits on 1 disk (maybe a :30 second commercial)…I take the time to label the disks in an organized way…
Each week I have a 30 minute show…It takes me 4-5 DVDs for everything that I save for just that 1 show…That’s why I paste all the contents to an Excel file…I just search and find the appropriate disk…I use a bunch of disks…I buy blank DVDs in spidles of 50…Every week the Sunday paper is full of sales circulars…Best Buy, Staples, Circuit City, Office Depot/Max…Spindle of 50 DVDs for $20…40 cents a piece…
