downconvert your HD footage to SD and work on a SD timeline so that all the footage will have the same format.

And if you are have the online process then, at the end of the edit, generate an edl- i guess here your work should end.

Now while doing the online confirmation, conformist will reconnect 16mm footage to your 16mm SD footage from tape and HD footage from XDCAM to downconverted (HD to SD) SD footage.

john.. in this scenario what if answer t your questions is ‘YES’. I interested to know how to deal with the synced sound when you have to convert footage from 29.97fps to 25fps.

bob i couldnt get what exactly the problem is.
Basically OMF files do not have anything to do with the video effects or for that matter videos at all.
If you know the exact places where the problem is arising, then see the audio format of those audio files.
    Which software you are using?
there are two types of OMF files OMF1.0 and OMF2.0, see which one suits for you.

which software you are using to convert ProRes into a PAL 720×576?

  • michael, you dont need to assemble the native R3D files by yourself. You should generate an EDL and send the native R3D footage along with EDL to the colorist. He will confirm the R3d files according to your EDL.
If you have any time code issues then look for the clips where this problem is coming.

i assume that you are using AutoDuck for the export. If you export the timeline you will get an option where in you can choose in which format you want to export the media, an AAF with MXF format should work on MC 5. Recently I have transfered some HD proj from FCP to AVID and this works for me.
