Hmm.. Now things are falling in place.
    One more question,
Any suggestion on placing the frames/panels? I don’t want the space to be cluttered.
Need some project organizing ideas for such kind of work.

    Thanks…

But the more I think the more doubts arise. Should this type of project be done completely in Motion?

I am more used to edit in FCP and then “send to motion” kind of workflow and then applying filters inside motion.

Since all the shots will be inside frames/panels, it makes sense to build the pages in 3D environment and then use the camera behaviours to focus on each panel.
    Right?

Pardon me for such questions but have never worked in 3D motion projects.

    Hi Stephen.

We are planning something on the same lines.
I would appreciate anything that you have to offer.

    Hi Brendon,

I have faced similar situation earlier with Blackmagic. The problem was with external video playback settings in FCP. I had set it to SD resolution and that was causing the problem.
I changed it to HD resolution and the quality of the downconverted video improved a lot.

    Some extra info

The captured clips as well as the sequence has field dominance set to NONE.

I never meant to blame the FCP, I was blaming myself for not being able to handle the things, but It was so hectic and confusing.

But what happens once my 24P clip is on 25 fps based timeline? also won’t there be sync problems as suddenly all the clips have changed from 25 to 24?

This is a 70 min long edit.

  • Shane, as I posted in my other thread about EDL and nested sequence, each take was created as a subclip of a sequence.

    Heres’ the quick recap

    Capture each tape
    Put it on a timeline
    Sync the audio
Create subclip of each take (These appear as nested sequence)
Modify the subclip TC and REEL No to that on the tape.

I hope now it makes sense.
