I installed the Canon plugin but I dont see any change. FCPX still doesn’t see the camera. I’ll try out XFCPX thanks for the tip.

The settings in camera are 1280×720 50p. It’s a two card camera. I formatted them both in camera and tried to import a new shot and no luck still. I also downloaded and installed the Canon plugin for FCPX and now there appears an XPFM13 archive in the Import from Camera dialog, but I can’t open it. It seems inactive. The camera is on and in playback mode.

Any idea? Thanks very much in advance.

It seems I have a problem. I have the media on my System drive, I don’t have an external drive at hand. I repaired permissions on the disk using DiskWarrior, but rebuilding directories is disabled for the system drive. Well, it didn’t help. Playback still freezes.

Anything else I can try out? Does it matter how much free disk space I have (I have about 160 GB at the moment). Does it also matter how many other applications I have running or the amount of free memory I have?

    Thanks in advance.

Arghh! I keep forgetting, good point. I switched to ProRes 422 and it works. Thanks.

Thanks very much for the answers, I can’t reshoot the footage now. I think I’ll try the multiband EQ and compression as Mark suggests.

    Cheers.

Aha! I had different codec settings for the sequence than the clips. Now that both are H.264 the darkening is gone. Thanks very much!

Oh sorry, I found out already. Pretty easy. Thanks anyway.
