I guess a SSD isn’t the best choice?

Will A SSD ( Solid State Drive ) show a significant improvement over a stock HD using After Effects with this Macbook Pro
I primarily use Flash/ Illustrator/ Photoshop and AFter Effects (AE runs painfully slow specially with the liquify tool)

I have a 2.33 ghz/ 3 gigs ram/ intel core2 duo MacBook Pro

i was told to use the animation codec with alpha, anyone know where do i find this? and how does it work with the uncompressed 10 bit 4:2:2 codec i was using?
