I see on the Adobe site that you cannot install AE or Pr on a “flash based drive”. Do they only mean a USB flash drive? Or are they talking about Solid state drives as well??

I am really looking forward to putting in a SSD so I can breeze through start ups and such. But if Adobe doesn’t want to get along with them then it would be kinda useless.

Thanks in advance for your knowledge

    Quote from here:

“contrary to the statement that CS4 “cannot install on… flash-based storage devices,” the apps install and run perfectly well on solid-state drives (SSDs), such as those available in the MacBook Air and the new Sony VAIO.”

    You should be fine.

Only in after effects do children get to pick and whip their parents.

Will A SSD ( Solid State Drive ) show a significant improvement over a stock HD using After Effects with this Macbook Pro
I primarily use Flash/ Illustrator/ Photoshop and AFter Effects (AE runs painfully slow specially with the liquify tool)

    I have a 2.33 ghz/ 3 gigs ram/ intel core2 duo MacBook Pro

One I am specifically looking at is

    Thanks for your reply!
What would you recommend doing to run AE optimally? (without changing computers)
I guess a SSD isn’t the best choice?
Are there any upgrades/ preference settings you might suggest?
    Thanks again!
    😉
