  • I almost got it. By removing the gravity, the caulking is actually standing up. But it is still going down very slowly, as if there were a little bit of gravity left. Any idea how I could get rid of that?

  • Thanks Jim. This is something I thought of. However, the caulking needs to be applied both vertically and horizontally in the same sequence. So it won’t work. I did try something that works OK. I set the gravity to 0. So the stuff coming out of the tube just stay there, since there’s no attraction downward. Then I animate the density to its normal setting just before the tube start applying the caulking horizontally.

Thanks Adam. Coincidently, I did exactly what you described. Great minds think alike.

Forget about the cube, that’s not a good exemple. I remember years ago Chris Tyler had a very good tutorial on modeling where he showed how to loop close a knife cut like this. I just can’t find it. Anyway, I’ll look some more.

I agree your suggestion. However, I would just like to be reminded how to do the loop close. Can be useful sometimes.

I want to put this in a HyperNURBS and I want the lower part of the cube to have smoother edges.

Thanks Brian. Did not think of using Rigid Body tag.

  • Is there a way to tell C4D that after x number of seconds, all objects are resting in their final position and dynamics has stopped? In real life, when spheres are dropped onto a floor, they will stop rolling shortly after, specially if there is high friction and the spheres are heavy.

  • Linear Velocity Threshold is not doing much. Is there a specific value that I should put in? It seems to me that the more clones there are and the smaller they are, the more unstable is the dynamics. Should I increase the project’s scale?

Thanks Brian. This really helped. There are so many possible settings, one can loose its mind.
