    If this is for a close-up shot I think the easiest way to simulate that would be to add a camera and rotate it either -90 or +90 degrees in bank, depending upon whether you want the tube to move up or down the “wall” (what would be the former floor).

    Thanks Jim. This is something I thought of. However, the caulking needs to be applied both vertically and horizontally in the same sequence. So it won’t work. I did try something that works OK. I set the gravity to 0. So the stuff coming out of the tube just stay there, since there’s no attraction downward. Then I animate the density to its normal setting just before the tube start applying the caulking horizontally.

    I almost got it. By removing the gravity, the caulking is actually standing up. But it is still going down very slowly, as if there were a little bit of gravity left. Any idea how I could get rid of that?

    The slow vertical movement is due to the speed of the particles, but if you zero that out you lose the interactions which cause the paste to bulge and fold. I don’t think there’s a way to eliminate the movement without also eliminating the folding, so hopefully someone else can chime in with an alternative.

    it’s the speed of the original particles that makes it move. You might be able to use the Friction object to slow them down but it will still move for a bit
