I don’t know that Premiere is any different on Mac (as long as you have NVidia card and proper drivers). I am not sure what the status is right now, the suite itself used to have more apps on windows. I think it was audio tools related.

I read somewhere that there is an issue with NTFS formatted disks and FCP X not liking that – not sure it’s true, but that would be an issue with multi-boot and wanting to access assets from both boots.

You can use bootcamp to run Windows on your mac hardware. No additional hardware needed.

  • Also, FCE updates still missing (only v2 – 2004 available now)

    As you say,

if you have a new incompatible product call it Maya not Wavefront X etc… (replace with your favorite example, it’s been done properly before)

Also I would add that they are the worst with developer relations (at large). A company like Adobe goes out of it’s way to make sure everyone is ready at launch. Apple tells no one anything, ships and then if there are some bugs well wait until the next release sorry. That might be OK if they said we will now work with the 3rd party ecosystem to make this all good, but they won’t.

NDA? It’s not because 2 companies were granted pre-release access that other companies know anything. We have no ideas yet what will be possible. It’s our intention to shortly get to see if it will work.

    FCP 7 🙂

You can try other ones like Premiere and see how it works for you, I think Adobe has a 30 days free trial and CS5.5 on Mac is certainly more robust then their initial Mac release and is available stand-alone.
