October 20, 2006 at 3:48 am in reply to: Is cell style animation possible in Photoshop CS2?Well, animation is possible, but I would not call it cell-style. It’s Adobe layer style. I think you need one layer per cell, unless you use the tweening function to automagically create “cells” in the PS/CS2 animator. So just create a few layers starting with full image and working down to the “erased” image, then use tweening between the cells to make the animation look like an erase. But then there are different ways to do the erase, if it’s like biting apple chunks, less cells are needed, and if it’s like a sponge erase, there are more cells. I am just learning animation myself, but I am not using PS, instead, I am using toonboon for 2d and poser6 for 3d. Even flash8 is a better animator then PS inmho. flash, toonboon, and even corel painterIX have true onionskinning, but i do use Photoshop to create a lot of the artwork, and just import the psd files into those other apps. well, hope that helps somewhat!

July 1, 2006 at 4:36 am in reply to: Data Section on DVD – no way to access from menu?Namaste John from Kathmandu!
thanks for all that good info, still waiting for the download to complete, could take days…
another virtual bud suggested director, but as i told him i thought that product was dead. used it years ago and felt like a programmer. yuck. okay, small logo i can live with. i noticed that u must pick an aspect ratio for the player,,,is there one for pal? interactual is not going to stretch my videos into strange shapes, is it? thanks!

perhaps it’s your pc dvd player? i’ve seen differences between them, and sometimes the default color profile for the player can change, for example cybervision powerDVD has lots of control over the video playback, even the saturation. just a thought!

June 29, 2006 at 3:11 pm in reply to: Data Section on DVD – no way to access from menu?gosh i wish the internet was faster here in nepal…downloading at a blazing 800 b/s tonight. must be a e-traffic jam somewhere in india. so it does need interactual installed? on the skins, are they logo’ed to death, or just plain and simple? i was thinking as i do very custom encore menu design, i would need any other interface element that comes up to match, if you know what i mean. but does it require a popup? can the encore button on the encore menu just launch a pdf, ppt whatever? or does the encore button launch interactual popup, that user then clicks from there to the pdf, ppt, whatever. sorry for all the questions…

June 29, 2006 at 2:45 pm in reply to: Data Section on DVD – no way to access from menu?thanks again, i did some poking around the sonic website and others while waiting for the download, and i see. question: will user have to install interactual player first, or is it seamless? personally i dont’ like the flavor of interactual that i have seen on commercial dvds, and many of my clients have locked down desktops (for good reason) so an interactual install may be problematic. I also see that they charge another 50 usd for the skin source. do you have skin builder as well? i am sure i would have to have that unless i can just go from the encore button DIRECT to say a pdf file – no interface needed inbetween. Thanks again, i guess i am just waiting to see….

yet even another way:
create your slide show in encore interface, run the project out as a DVD folder, find the VOB for the slide show, rename that vob to .mpg, edit the mpg in your nle to add your video clips, reimport the new movie in encore project. voila. -
Uh guys, i just drag them into the project window, works great. set do not transcode (but it defaults to that). I use this technique sometimes when in premiere pro1.5, using canopus procoder to quickly get a video into an encore dvd project. canopus does the job much faster. but maybe i missed something here 🙂
