What is the frame size/frame rate of the ripped .m2v files? Can you play them separately in a media player?
What program did you use to rip? Settings for the rip (raw, demux, etc.)?

files are ntsc, i used DVDLab to demux vobs to m2v & ac3, they play fine in all other apps

Encore is fussy about .m2v files. I still need to know the frame size and frame rate.

That rules out 704×480 and/or something other than 29.97 fps.
Do you have any version of the DivX codec installed on your system? Older reports of other possible conflicting software include more recent MS Intellipoint drivers (v. 4.1 should be OK).
Do you have Premiere Pro 2? It has the same playback engine as Encore, so you could import the m2v files into Premiere and see if you can play them back properly in PPro. If they work OK in PPro, then export DV or HuffYUV avi files from Premiere for use in Encore.
Failing that, I would recommend converting the m2v files to DV or HuffYUV avi files using dvd2avi and then importing those into Encore.

no problem with PAL files, i think this is a bug in ver2, i read someone has the same issue, but not with 1.5

NTSC .m2v files work great on my system (and many others). If it was a bug, it would be reproducible across multiple platforms, which it is not.
Since you didn’t answer any of my questions from my last post, can I assume you are done with NTSC files and will stick with PAL, and that the issue is resolved?
