Recently I have made an animation with about 500 drawings using my method.

In Photoshop copy the still to a new file with a transparent backgroud.
Remove the white background and use this file in Premiere.Good luck

You can also play the DVD on a desktop DVD player, connect the analog output to the analog input of a video camera, switch the camera to digital output and capture the DVD via firewire. The quality stays rather good.

In the meantime I burned a CD and to my surprise there is NO pause between track 1 and 2.
The question is now why there is a 2 second difference between the end of track 1 and the start of track 2 in the CD project table?

Indeed the project pointed to the wrong scratch disk. I changed that to a disc with 60 Gb free space, but the same problem. I found out that I cannot import anymore small clips or audio at all, even in new projects! Maybe I have to reinstall Premi

If you have a DV camera with analog input, connect the desktop DVD player to your camera and capture the DVD parts in Pemiere via firewire. In the menu of the camera you have to set the firewire to output and switch to recording without tape.

I capture in AVI by playing the DVD on a stand alone DVD player connected to the analog input of the camera via fire wire with very good results.

Check befor you remove the DV500 if the SCSI controller for the HD is on the DV500.
(It was on the DV300 I used in the past) -
If you want to shoot with one camera you can follow my method as described.
Making a flash is only usefull when you shoot with different camera’s at the same time.
Forget also genlock.
It is only imported to shoot each time the total song. After you have synchronised the different live sound tracks on the timeline with the beep on the CD there are no further sychronisation problems.
Put the original sound of the CD on a separate sound track, synchronise this with the live recorded tracks and switch all live soundtracks off.
Now you can start editing the videotracks.Phocas Kroon
