I’ve extracted the background from a still photo in Photoshop, but when I bring it into Premiere Pro 2.0 the white background comes with it. How can I import ONLY the image that I’ve extracted and NOT the background?

In Photoshop copy the still to a new file with a transparent backgroud.
Remove the white background and use this file in Premiere.

    Good luck

Thanks Phocus! That worked! But I’m guessing I could have saved a step somewhere in the process. I’m trying to learn new and better ways to utilize stills in my videos. Was there something I missed in Photoshop when I first made the extraction that might have helped?

I’m also trying to learn 3D effects for stills in After Effects. The going is slow!!!!

Before you delete the background – before you do anything in fact, double click the layer called background ( in the layer pallet on teh right) to convert it to a real layer. Then whatever you delete by whatever method – magic wand, eraser, will reveal the transparent background. And be transparent on PPRO. Mac clicking may be something else – same result.

    Can I frame that?

    Yes, you can!
Recently I have made an animation with about 500 drawings using my method.
Your method is much much better and saves a lot of time.
    Thank you.
