    thanks for your thoughts Alban, much appreciated. we’ve been down the road of upgrading old boxs’ before with mixed results, hence my query.

    my options now would seem to be imac and X or pc and prempro…

    dont know if it helps, but when i recently did a time lapse project, i opened each batch of stills in after effects, using the ‘import as footage’ (i think) option

    then exported from there and edited filmes in fcp

    just one more question… what do you use to deinterlace? i have found quicktime outputs to be a bit hit and miss so far.
