hi there all. I’m currently using a little sony HD camcorder 1080i and a canon 60d 1080p in FCP. even if i set teh timeline to the sony interlaced footage and accept that i have to render every 60d clip as i go, the end output is still a bit juddery in places.

is there any procedure i should be following here? or should i just not be using the sony and just concentrate on using the progressive footage? at present i am experimenting to try and find a solution as budgets (i.e. my boss) won’t let me go and buy a serious progressive HD camcorder which is just unfair in my book!

    anyhows, any guidance most appreciated

    thanks

    Phil

Take the format with the least amount of footage and run the shots thru compressor and convert to I or P which ever the case may be. Matching the other formats clips.
Then import the clips into the proj.
