    I opened a new project and all was normal, then I remembered that I started the project with the weird behavior in an earlier build of VP12 and put it aside for a while before coming back to it. In the interim I had updated VP12 to the latest build. Maybe something happened there… but now all seems to be back to normal(ish).

    Thanks John.. obviously something is affecting Vegas. Only plug-ins are Ultimate S and Vegasaur, although I have had those for previous versions with no issue.

    You might look at your paging memory… check the threads for memory paging here, I seem to remember a discussion on “low memory” issues. By default on installation Windows should have set the paging file, but something might have changed it. Worth a look.
