Certainly DO NOT try playing them if their is any suggestion of moisture on the tape. Doing so will cause “stiction” or suction-cupping of the tape to the spinning head drum, and then disaster. (Which is why there is a dew sensor in every tape camera to shut down the drive if moisture is detected.) The rice idea will work, but you can buy silica gel from pharmacists (drug stores) and that is cleaner. Camera shops sell similar stuff. If the tapes are really important, investing in a tape rewinder might be an idea to spool the tapes end to end a few times to make sure wound layers don’t stick to each other and pull off the coating.

You will need Boot Camp and Windows 7 as well. Boot Camp essentially makes your computer into a dual system computer running both operating systems (not at once.. you operate in one or the other, selected at start up time.) I’m sure there are others on here that have actually put Vegas on a Mac.

Surely, if you have the original un-edited clips.. or can get them, then the problem is fixed. If not… then you are back to square one and in deep do-doos.

I might be missing something here, but there is no way to add extra to an untrimmed motion video event unless you buy some of those recently discovered “God” particles or slow the whole event down to make it longer.
A still event is easy.. just allow looping and drag the start and/or end of the event to add more frames.

It isn’t possible to add something that isn’t there, assuming you mean adding more to a clip that hasn’t already been edited. Sure you can repeat, or loop, by yanking out the start and end, but that really doesn’t look good.

Umm.. when Vegas says it cant find a file, aren’t you given the option of telling it where it is, and then that any other “lost” file is at that location too?
I’m not at my work computer so can’t verify that atm.

Now isn’t that an odd one! Never noticed that before either, so what to do with it?? I notice it only works top down, ie the offset on the top event in a timeline stack will use its offset to snap to a lower event, but not the other way. “Curiouser and curiouser,” said Alice.
