RED footage is very dark in Vegas 11.
First time RED user, shooting with a Scarlet. I was excited to be able to just drop the R3D files into the Project Media, and everything seems to run perfectly while editing.
However, the image on the screen is MUCH darker than what I see in Red-Cine. I shot the footage at 400 ISO, and I need to bump it up to 800 ISO (or highter) in Vegas just to make it come close to what I see in Red-Cine.
On the flip-side. If I put the footage in Premiere, it looks nearly the same as in Red-Cine (maybe a little brighter).
Anyone else have this problem, or know a solution? Thanks.

In the Project Media tab of Vegas, right click on the
R3D file and select File Format Properties. There you can

I don’t mind doing the ISO adjustments as you described, but why should I have to bump up the ISO on every shot in Vegas, when it is perfectly normal with Adobe and RED-Cine?

Well, thats one of the little drawbacks of Vegas,
it simply interprets Gamma/Exposure differently. I had issues
with this in the past, working hand in hand with Vegas and
After Effects (long story, lol), i just adapted to various
workarounds in Vegas, (But you shouldn’t have to do that).Steve Rhoden
