    …waiting for the rapture.

I hope it’s not too good, I just opted for a AVID PC for my home setup.

Another trick is to precompute your thing the rez you want and it will render faster.

rendering half quarter, has already advised, etc through render settings works has well.

thanks, I’ve been looking for this one!

hope it’s going to work to move hvx-200 p2 logged bins from FCP to AVID and that AMA will be able to link back. I must say I have little hope..

Chances are you installed a not that recent version of boris.

There is a “better” solution to totally disabling UAC.

Id it can’t creat a directory, it’s propbably because of
windows preventing avid to do so (through UAC).
So the solution is to add a user to the boris fx directory.

(windows 7 but vista should be alike, should upgrade anyway..)

    1. open a terminal window type sudo -b, just kiddin! LOL OSX!
    SO,
    1. as an administrator, you go to program file – boris fx,
    2. right click the directory
    3. under the “security” tab click “Edit”, then “add”
    4. Into the “enter the objects names to select” add a “everyone” user
    5. in the permission box grant it full control, and why not grant full control to all the other users.
    6. Ok/apply. yes to apply to sub-folders.

everything should work and you don’t have to restart your computer to disable UAC which is, I guess, good for you.

The procedure is also useful when permission error occur for example when you try to move media with the AVID using it or in other funny instances. “can’t write, can’t create, whatever access error”, you know.

good luck to all and remember to oil you steinbeck once in a while.
