July 11, 2012 at 7:01 pm in reply to: Group Clip Puzzle

I am not using multicam. I am using a group clip, which is related to multicam, but is a slightly different animal. It allows stepping through shots in source viewer or on the timeline. And I am using 5 angles, all with matching time code.

I am able to keep everything in sync. But I can’t see video in my source viewer or client monitor, although I can still hear proper audio.

    A real headscratcher, no?

I’m not using multi camera. Just group clip. This project is DNXhd145 and I just don’t have the bandwith to display 5 cameras simultaneously. Also should note that I’m working with ProRez files recorded on AJA KiPro recorders via AMA.

June 8, 2012 at 8:04 pm in reply to: MC6 License Control problem

    Thanks Ben.

I’ve tracked the problem to my network situation. I’m using a wireless USB adapter to connect to our in-house network. When the USB thingie is connected, Avid loads just fine. When it is not connected, I get the clanging and warning about license control. In other words, USB wireless adapter has become my dongle.

A call to Avid is coming soon.

    Thanks again.

    Hi all.

Regarding my post that started this thread, I finally figured out how to get help on line from Sony. Problem had been too many installs, as I’d had some hard drive crashes and changed machines. Help from Sony was very prompt. Thanks for the help in finding the help.

September 21, 2011 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Scrubbing Issues?

If your caps lock key is engaged, scrubbing can be difficult. This is useful for digital audio scrubbing. But that’s just for short pieces when trying to find a spot in the track. The longer the sequence, the clunkier it gets when caps lock is engaged.

June 7, 2011 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Capture glitch in MC5.5.1

My composer windows are OK. I have experienced that little problem quite a few times and have learned to look there early on.

Today I tried something interesting- I opened a different project and tried to capture. Everything worked as it should. No problems of any kind. I went back to the original project and the problem continues.

So there is a workaround if needed. I can capture into another project and then go to the bin in that project.

Maybe someday I’ll figure out what’s going on.

Thanks to all for the help.

Yup. Video is there when I capture and play it back. Goes into a bin like it should. Works just fine.

But I can’t see video on the monitor or record viewer or scopes when logging. When I hit the red button for capture, I see it on the monitor. And it is captured just fine.

I’m sure I’m missing something simple. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Deck is Sony UVW-1800. Capturing through analog MoJo as a component input.

Worked very well a couple of weeks ago. Now…… well, it still works, but can’t see in the viewer or monitor.

    Still can capture.

I’m sure I’ve missed and/or screwed up something.

    All help is appreciated.
